Groups Directory - December 2016

Welcome to our new directory which gives you information about all our current groups. If you would like to join a group please phone or email the named contact.

Some popular groups are full but if you get in touch with the Groups Co-ordinator Edith Willcocks your name will be put on a waiting list, or if there are lots of people interested it may be possible to set up a new group.

We were able to start two new groups:
Photography 2                     with Ian McEvoy as group leader and
Singles Holiday Group         with June Ewing and Claire Fairgrieve as joint group leaders.
We are very lucky that Ian, June and Claire have agreed to lead the new groups and wish them all the success and fun with these activities.

I do hope you join some groups and I look forward to seeing you at our monthly meetings.

Notes

First of all on behalf of the committee and all members: A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OUR WONDERFUL GROUP LEADERS! They do a great job and the Overton and District U3A would not be the great success that we are.

Places in the Groups are sought after and in short supply. Please don’t forget to let the organiser know when you can no longer take part in the group. Also, if you cannot attend a meeting, try to let your organiser know in good time - it does make a difference! Lunch clubs are particularly affected as venues can be difficult with regard to numbers.

And to remind you: When the groups began, it was agreed amongst the membership that a small contribution of 50 pence per member would be made at each meeting to the host of the group towards the cost of refreshments. Please can you check with your group to establish the current arrangement.

The extra-curricular activities have continued to be popular and will remain to be a part of our programme. They will follow the same format and the talks will take place on an ad hoc basis. The subjects will vary - ideas are always appreciated. Details of these extra events will be publicised by email and at the monthly meetings; posters will also be used.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS DIRECTORY as there are some changes this year!
